Also Beiersdorf, headquartered in Germany, has entered into a distribution agreement with Oriola concerning so-called non-restricted consumer products sold by pharmacies, and nursing products for professional healthcare. Beiersdorf is the name behind many internationally well-known brands, such as Hansaplast and Leukoplast, Eucerin, Futuro, Labello and Dermamed. Its best-known brand is Nivea. The wholesale value of the company's products channelled via Oriola to the Finnish market will be about EUR 5 million on an annual level.
Oriola, a business division of the Orion Group, is a pharmaceutical wholesaler and distributor and a marketer of healthcare products covering the sector comprehensively. The combined market share of Oriola and KD Tukku of pharmaceutical distribution in Finland is currently about 60%. Oriola's invoicing in 2002 came to EUR 716 million and for the first 9 months of 2003 it came to EUR 674 million.
