Docent, MD, PhD Reijo Salonen, 50 years, has been appointed to Senior Vice President, Research and Development of pharmaceuticals and member of the Executive Management Board of the Orion Group as of 1st November, 2006. Dr. Salonen is currently working at Pfizer, where his latest position has been Vice President and Worldwide Therapeutic Area Head Neurosciences at Pfizer's Worldwide Development in the United States. Dr. Salonen has worked at Pfizer since March, 2004. Before that time he has held various managerial positions, mainly in Research and Development, at GlaxoSmithKline both in Finland and the United States for many years. Dr. Salonen has an MD degree and PhD in Neuroimmunology from 1983. He is Specialist in Neurology and has been Docent in Neuroimmunology at the University of Turku since 1989.
