The need for patient engagement

Patient engagement refers to the active involvement of patients in their own healthcare, with the aim of improving health outcomes. Patients are at the heart of everything we do here at Orion, and it is our priority to listen and learn from patients and caregivers to help improve health outcomes. Our three-step approach ensures that we are achieving this goal by involving patients from the very beginning of their journey.

We understand that patients are the experts, and so we strive to engage them at all levels across the business to ensure that the work we are doing has the most meaningful impact. We want to continually partner with our patient communities to make a difference where it truly matters – by supporting patients, families, caregivers and HCPs through the journey of diagnosis, treatment and care of the people impacted in Orion's main therapy areas.

We strive to ensure that patient engagement is ingrained in every area of our business. Whether that is at the beginning, involving patients as part of our R&D and clinical trials process; or gathering insights to improve patient experiences; or collaborating to develop educational materials to provide disease education to the general public and HCPs.
